To get to Newcastle from Singleton

Train: To get to the University by train you will need to catch the HUN from Singleton Station through to Warabrook Station. This is an hour and 1 minute journey, with a train departing from Singleton five times a day.

Bus: You can also catch a bus to the University by catching a bus from Singleton to Watt Street, Newcastle. From there you will catch a bus to Ring Road, at the university. The bus journey from singleton is 1 hour and 15 minutes, leaving 3 times a day, the journey from Newcastle to the university is a 20 minute journey leaving every 30 minutes.

Car: Travelling from Singleton you will drive to the New England Highway continuing to Lower Belford. From here you will continue onto the M15, followed by Newcastle link Road/A15. The A15 will lead you to Callaghan, this is a 55 minute journey.

The University of Newcastle also offers a free shuttle bus around campus and to the Newcastle City Campus.

Tocal College offers 128 courses in agriculture, dairy, youth education, natural resource management and bees. They also offer short courses and traineeships.

The College is part of the Tocal Agricultural Centre within NSW Department of Primary Industries. Consisting of the College, Regional Services and Regulatory programs, Tocal Field Days and Tocal Homestead. Tocal College also has a southern campus, Yanco Campus near Leeton. The south College provides a wide range of skills training courses, traineeships and the Aboriginal Rural Training Program (ARTP).

Drive from Glendon Road, Stanhope Road, and Tocal Road to Tocal

Travelling via New England Highway/ A15 (61.5km) – Travel time of 1 hour
Follow York Street to Maitland Road/New England Highway/A15
Follow along to the A43 to Maitland Road
Take Belmore Road, Paterson Road and Tocal road to your destination in Tocal

Hunter Trade College is a senior school (for years 11 and 12) and a Registered Training Organisation. Hunter Trade College offers the Higher school Certificate with nationally recognised qualifications and statements of attainment in technical trade courses. This College is a great start for a career in automotive, construction, electrical or metals/engineering trades. Learning with qualified, experienced and caring staff who give expert training in vocational skills and supporting academic skills. You will be able to gain valuable industry experience through the Trade College’s comprehensive work placement program with a wide range of employers from the Hunter region.
