THERE were 600 cattle penned at the Hunter Regional Livestock Exchange in Singleton yesterday, in a solid overall market with good lines of weaner cattle on offer.
A few more export cattle were yarded this week, with the cob job selling to fully firm rates.
Most of the well finished cows made between $3.20 and $3.35 per kilogram and plain cows sold anywhere between $2.90 and $3.10.
Well bred light weaner steers sold to $7.00 for most and their heavier brothers sold between $5.80 and $6.20.
Heifers also sold well with light weights making well over $6.00 and most heavier heifers selling at $5.40 and $5.60.
Not many well finished cattle yarded yesterday, however what was available sold well, with most making $5.10 and $5.20.

A Weaner Yearling Sale will be held tomorrow,July 30 at 10am, featuring an outstanding line of Angus Heifers out of a highly recognised cow herd.
The genetics in the heifers are by Knowla, Dunoon, Rennylea and K O Angus and the steers consistently perform to a high standard at Rangers Valley Feedlot in the long fed program.
All bulls used in the herd average in the top 20 percent for growth carcass and maternal traits.
Twelve crossbred steers and 59 Angus Steers from the Bedonia Pastoral Company will also be on offer.
The steers were purchased as weaners and have been running in steep unsupered country up until six weeks ago, with the cattle have been running on this seasons oats crop.
